Print Pack Ink
black print cartridge does not work?
My HP Deskjet D4260 Color prints only. The ink levels register as both black and full color, and if the color is completely black still has to be because it is both new and XL cartridge that should last a long time. I just installed my printer after not using it for 8 months and two cartridges were there all the time and printed correctly before you put the printer in May. Can a dry cartridge? Why why only black does not work? I tried to take the cartridge and put back in, there seems to be dirty and I tried the "Clean Cartridges" button in the toolbar Tools of the printer. I realllly do not want to buy another!
Finding a cover of an old jam jar or shallow dish or something, and put the cartridge with the print head on the bottom. Then get a paper towel in white. Pour boiling water into the jar lid and let soak the print head a couple of minutes, remove and clean with the towel. If the ink cartridge is displayed again placed in water. You may have to change the water and put in boiling water, but eventually will work. I have this information from an instruction booklet troubleshooting a refilled cartridge.
