How to make a real turret?
Ok, I know this sounds a bit strange, but I'm building a training, using paintball guns. But anyway, it is possible, or is there a tour guide showing how to make a tower that will have a BB or paintball gun and use a camera of some sort to shoot everything that moves within the room. I know this sounds strange, but anyway ....
You need to know how to program computers, as Visual Basic, C, and perhaps some programming C + + is required access to a machine and carpentry shop to fabricate the parts needed to build Custom machine would require some motors (servos) who can turn the tower on the side to side, and a second servo to move the gun and down. the computer may require one or more video cameras of high definition, as close as possible boresighted paintball / Airsoft Gun for greater accuracy, and at least a second or even a third to find and track targets. The current method of computers to find targets would be a familiar form or by difference in background color. Thus a camera on the gun so that the computer is where the gun was pointing a camera to find the first set of targets for the gun to shoot, and a second camera to find all nearby or additional goals. There are other ways or computer to find targets, but its best to build a simple prototype first and then once you are familiar with everything, buy more powerful systems (such as Doppler ultrasound, infrared cameras, laser systems) to increase efficiency and such. You need a electro-mechanical activation, some kind of relay. the computer would send a pulse of a sort of digital or analog signal, so be a device that can convert this momentum into mechanical motion of pressing the trigger of the paintball gun. Later, after you worked all The Kinks and the bugs out, a custom paint gun can be used in place of a mechanical shutter that needs to be pulled, the computer may activate a valve electronics to release the compressed gas that fires projectiles. Alternatively, you can see if a piezoelectric switch would work in regular paintball guns. I did some research Internet about my idea in the 8th grade, oh, around 2002. I have a few bruises. After two children built their sentry airsoft gun (which are piped above), the idea really caught on and now there are hundreds of DIY paintball, airsoft and BB guns as sentinel. There is nothing like my idea, but really only my idea is shown in military or paramilitary systems. (that's what it was for military or paramilitary use). I've adapted my idea, more recently, for most one civilian, pest control bird. Its still not built yet. N the engine room (I also stuck with tape some red state and federal law. So much bureaucracy!
