Inch Compact Tripod
Light, compact digital SLR camera tripod?
Hi all, I like to use my Nikon D40x in other countries. I am planning a trip to Chile, Argentina and Peru. With that information in mind, Can anyone recommend a tripod that can fit in my luggage? I like to do long exposure shots using lights of the city, traffic, etc. .. But I'm tired of searching mailboxes, stone walls ... you the idea ... to stabilize the camera when I go by the long exposure. What is the smallest a compact tripod can still be fully functional? BH Photo found one that goes down to 12.2 inches and expands to 32.2 inches. Are there other better are you? Please help, I'm getting more serious about learning photography. Thank you! It is a compromise. Bigger is better, but of course, more cumbersome. I think BHPhoto Cullmann of quality should be good, although it is possible that you may covet more space. I have a Cullmann Jet Set. I have not experimented much with it, but it seems good so far. You can only fit in my backpack detachable main pack. Seems to be spending more time in pre-order we offer, as seen in http://www.adorama.com/CU52013.html is so-so with 18-200mm. It might be OK with a D40 and lens kit. I have experienced with most is the Sunpak DigiPro Compact http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/366412-REG/Sunpak_620005B_DigiPro_Compact_B_Tripod.html It is heavier than my Cullman, but it closes more compactly. The balance point is set to work better with a heavy DSLR front. I'm not crazy by the turn of lock and unlock the system. I have a Slik Sprint Pro, which has more user-friendly clips on the legs. I've used it at the north end of travel where I submitted an additional package of medium size. Do not conform to a small backpack.
Take photos with a PEN fab shots are hard to get, but if you have the right tools, get a shot well-integrated on the first try is not so difficult.
