What to visit New York to see first in the Big Apple
New York is a favorite for travelers from the United States and visitors from around the world. It \ 'S one of those who see the cities up to London, Paris and Rome. New York is probably the best known of the city in the world, so be sure to find time to come and visit New York.
So where do you start with a city that offers so much? Well, any self-respecting tourist has to hit the tourist guides, so unless you have a particular program, you \ 'll probably want to visit this short list.
Certainly you can visit New York on his own, but if time is short or \ 'd like a quick overview, you may want to consider a visit to the city. Another option is to check in one of the cities tourist passes are available, as they can save time and money.
To start with you \ 'll probably want to visit the Statue of Liberty. No admission fee for the island, which stands, but you must buy a ferry ticket to get there for about $ 12 for adults. If you want to go the Statue of Liberty, you must reserve a free "Monument Pass. These passes are specific time, which means they have to go at the moment you have booked.
Liberty Island Security is as serious as it is to get on an airliner these days. You will have to clear a security check before boarding the ferry. There will be a second security check if you have a pass to enter the Monument to the Statue of Liberty. Allow plenty of time ... probably 2-3 hours.
You can also visit Ellis Island. Again, no admission fee, but you must pay for the shuttle. Both sites are just a short ferry ride from Battery Park. The ferry circles the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and back to the city. Check the ferry schedule for details.
If you just want to see the Statue of Liberty in the harbor, which could take the free Staten Island Ferry to Manhattan and back on photo opportunities.
See the Empire State Building. Take the elevator to the observation platform for a great view of the city. There is an admission fee, and often a time line.
Take a stroll through Central Park. There are lakes and open spaces, right there in the center of town. It \ 'sa great place to get away from the bustle of the city and perhaps make a picnic.
Visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art with it \ 's great collections of paintings and ancient art. Located on the east side of Central Park on Fifth Avenue and 82nd Street. The American Museum of Natural History is located on the opposite side of the park on Central Park West at 79th Street.
See the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum Guggenheim. Or try the Frick Collection to see the impressive art and get a glimpse of what a mansion in New York of the 1900s seemed.
And If You \ 're ready to go out again, how about a little shopping, or at least window shopping? Take a walk down Fifth Avenue. Or see Times Square, where New Yorkers and visitors celebrate New Year \ 's Eve, and where can I find more information on Broadway.
And this is just for starters, and to bring good walking shoes and enjoy visiting New York. About the Author
