digital camera flash won't work with yellow dot blinking..? help?
I have sony cybershot s700 and the camera works fine except for the flash. If i turn the flash off it will take the picture but when it's on auto or on it won't take the picture... it has the lightning sign with a yellow dot next to it blinking why wont the flash work? anyone know?
I have looked in the S700's Handbook (page21)...and it appears that the lightning symbol plus the yellow dot lets you know that the flash is charging.
That tells me it's most likely your batteries are not fully charged or are inadequate.
Using the flash requires lots of battery power and if you are using the wrong type of battery or the battery does not have enough charge, then the camera WILL struggle.
Your camera uses AA batteries. Never use ordinary alkaline type batteries, which do not hold enough charge to power a camera (or flash) for long. They're a complete waste of money.
You should either be using high capacity, AA rechargeable NiMH (2500-2700mAh) or non rechargeable Lithium (such as Energizer's Ultimate or Advanced Lithium batteries).
