Any drawbacks upgrading a semi-compact digital camera?
I've had a Kodak Z730 semi-compact for the last few years, and found it great (good amount of auto and manual features for my needs). I've been looking to upgrade the camera via a lens kit (wide angle, macro, telephoto) to give me more options.
Question is, are there any major drawbacks with trying to upgrade my camera in this way?

I've seen these attachments that you talk of, a select number of compacts have these kits made for them.
The problem is that they are just modifications, the camera was not truly designed from the outset to that. As a result these adaptions may have an impact on your image quality. The only truly modular system is a medium format SLR, where viewfinders, backs, and lenses are all designed for it, and all removable. Where an item is not removable and requires additional parts to augment it there is always going to be a reduction in outright performance.
