Are 14 megapixel digital cameras bad if they are not a professional camera?
For example, the Panasonic Lumix FH20 or the Sony Cybershot W370?
Not at all. Professional cameras (dslr's) are way more advanced then a point and shoot digital. Reguardless of what type of camera it it, 14mp's are the same for the most part. Every digital camera has an automatic mode, even pro cameras. Good pictures don't come from what type of camera you have, it comes from your artistic ability or "eye". 14 mp will get you prints that are 20x30 or bigger and will allow you to crop in a lot.
Sigma confirms pricing and availabilty for DP2x compact camera: $800, late-April
