How do I download pics to a Mac from a Canon IXUS V3 digital camera?
I've been kindly given the camera, but no instructions - I used a Fuji Finepix on the Mac before but lost it.
Here's what I've done:
- switched on the camera in photo-taking mode
- connected the camera to the Mac with the USB cable
- opened Iphoto on the Mac
- clicked "import"
It's saying "No camera detected"??

The camera should not be in "photo-taking mode". It should be in "photo-display" mode (as though you were looking at the photos on the camera).
Have you checked the Canon site local to your country to download the manual?
