Need advice buying photo printer?
I am on a budget of teachers, so I can not go over $ 200 (prefer less) but I'm lost with the exams. I've watched: Epson PictureMate Deluxe Viewer Edition Personal Photo Lab Color Inkjet Printer Photosmart D7160-Color Photo Printer - Epson Stylus Photo R340 Color Printer, Canon PIXMA iP6600D Color Photo Printer Can anyone offer advice or suggestions? I like the individual ink tubes, or any way to not spend a ton of ink. But I need good image quality. Thanks for any help.
The best photo printers on the market now According PC Magazine is HP and Canon. Epson users have problems with the waste of ink (when the pictures come out very well) and the Lexmark is wrong. You're right however, there are tons of different photo printers out there. In my personal opinion, for someone who wants to print multiple photos, the new HP Photosmart printers are the best anywhere. You mentioned that you wanted individual ink cartridges, and it's a good idea for someone who makes a lot of color printing, either photos or color documents. Many of the new HPS have this technology, individual ink tank (not all do, however). My recommendations for a photo printer for you are these (all These printers have individual ink tanks, an LCD screen for viewing / editing photos without a PC, memory card slots for digital memory card, and the impressive photo quality): HP Photosmart C5180-this is a great photo printer that also scans and copies. You can make copies of your existing photos with resolution high-copy on this computer and not lose the sharpness of the picture (though the colors will not be exactly the same). It sells for $ 199 (which is on sale at Best Buy for $ 179 this week, I know that I bought) HP Photosmart D7160, although this machine does not copy or scan, it makes printing regular documents and photos and at speeds very fast. If you do not want to copy or scan, this would be the printer for you. If you like high tech gadgets, the D7360 (a step up from the D7160) has a display touch. The D7160 retails for $ 149, the D7360 retails for $ 199 (but also on sale for $ 159 at Best Buy this week). HP A617-this printer only prints 4x6, 4x12 and 5x7 photos. If you want to make it bigger photos would not be the machine for you. In addition, this printer has individual ink tanks. However, this printer is small and completely portable. Retails for around $ 179. The reason I recommend HP printers is due to 1. photo quality and 2. The cost of ink. Canon and cost Epson ink is outrageous, actually. When you figure in the purchase of all individual ink cartridges (about $ 15 each for color and $ 18 for black) and the purchase of photographic paper (anywhere from $ 10 to $ 25) gets very expensive. The HP 6-cartridge systems, however, have ink and paper that can be purchased individually or in a package that includes all 6 cartridges and 150 4x6 documents for $ 37 (about $ 50 total savings). These photos will photo, stains, and fade resistant for 100 years, according to the package. The photos are much better than you get at Wal-Mart, and last long. Another added advantage is that these printers HP have 6 colors instead of 4 colors like many other printers have (the Epson R340 I used 4). The 6 colors will give better color variations. In any case, I recommend the printer over the C5180 because it is useful to copy and scan. If you do not need the options, the D7160 is as good as regard to pictures, or even the D7360 if you want to spend the extra $ 10 to Best Buy this week (the touch screen is a bit cold). There should also steer clear of ink refills for the ink is much lower quality, ie, your photos do not have the color quality, fade resistance and water resistance of genuine brand inks.
