Minolta XG-M - In need of compatible flash?
My dad just brought out his dad's old film camera, a Minolta XG-M. We want to get it working again, but I'm in need of a compatible flash.

Would that fit the hot shoe? Are there any other choices? I've looked for hours now and this seems to be the only option.
It has a 50mm lens. Is this a good lens to start out with?

Would this work as well?
The XG has a standard hot shoe, so ANY auto thyristor flash will work. You can buy brand new, instead of used... like the Vivitar 285HV from B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/61441-REG/Vivitar_233965.html
The flashes you link to will work too, but for how long? Some flashes last pretty much forever, others don't, and there is no way to tell which one you are getting.
