Kodak EasyShare Z981 14MP Digital Camera with Schneider-Kreuznach
I have had my Z981 for 2 weeks and I actually have given it an intensive testing. My son may be a skilled photographer and he told me that i'd be disappointed with this camera. I told him that i'd provides it a real-world check and, if i used to be disappointed, i'd send it back.
First the cons: 1) The On/Off toggle switch is awkwardly placed. it's nearly not possible to show the camera on (or off) while not moving (changing) the Mode dial. 2) The battery compartment is simple to open however terribly tough to shut and lock (I use my automotive key to slip it). Also, certify the camera works once you have got locked it. for a few reason, this appears to be a haul. 3) A hotshoe and tilting read screen would are nice however I knew from the specs that i'd get neither. 4) The zoom on the rear of the camera (rather than on the top) is awkward however i will be able to get use to it. 5) i'd have gladly paid an additional $50 to possess the camera engineered out of serious duty plastic.
Now the pros: 1) The photo quality is initial rate. 2) The zoom is sleek however, keep in mind that in high power, you actually ought to steady the camera (I use a monopod). 3) The video automatically includes thusund (not so with all cameras). 4) The video is incredibly prime quality (1280x720) and therefore the optical zoom works in video mode. When enjoying this video, it fills my entire laptop monitor - not simply to a small degree window within the middle of the monitor. 5) It uses SD cards. this does not sound like abundant however these are less expensive than the proprietary cards that some cameras use. 6) It uses AA batteries. Since I travel plenty within the Amazon, built-in (or proprietary) rechargeable batteries aren't an choice on behalf of me. 7) i really like having a separate button for all of the various functions. the value is nice. I actually have never paid less that $600 for a digital camera.
Bottom line: nice photos, nice high resolution video, 14mp and 26x zoom. it's some quirks however may be a nice camera at a good value.
